A few weeks ago I completed the brand spankin’ new logo for the 2011 Midwest Wine and Brew Festival. This great event will be taking place here at the Lake of the Ozarks in August. To help the Lake Area Chamber of Commerce spread the work about the event I designed a fun poster with details about the event and a listing of sponsors and vendors.

Logo Design: Room 42
I had the great pleasure of working with Susan Duncan at Spectra Interiors on a recent quick logo design. She asked me to help her create a logo for her new division, Room 42. Room 42 is an event space that can accommodate 30 people and is beautifully decorated for a unique experience. Susan had a very specific idea in mind and it was fun helping her bring her vision to life. The Room 42 logo design is elegant and classy and works well with Spectra’s existing logo. For more information on Room 42, visit their website here.

Logo Design: 2011 Midwest Wine and Brew Festival
The Lake Area Chamber came to me with a really exciting project—design a logo for the brand new Wine AND BREW Fest. The Missouri Winefest has been a long-standing tradition at the Lake for 18 years but this year they are adding MICRO-BREWERIES to the roster! (Men everywhere are rejoicing!) I loved working on this logo and could have worked on concepts for weeks, but I reigned myself in and was able to give the Chamber’s Marketing Director, Michelle, 12 options to take to the board (see below). I hear the decision was tough, but they picked the logo that you see above. Fun, contemporary and a great symbol to represent the event. This logo will be used on all of the marketing pieces for the event including stemless wine tasting glasses, flyers, ads, etc. I think it turned out great and it will be fun to collect a glass from every year with this logo on it. Can’t wait for this year’s event to try all the wines and brews and to get my collection started.
This year’s event will be held August 6th. For more information, visit the Lake Area Chamber’s website.

Logo Design: Slugger’s Eatery
I recently had the great pleasure of working on a logo for a new Lake-area restaurant, Slugger’s Eatery. What a fun job! This new establishment features Chicago-style dogs, Italian beef, sweet potato fries (yum) and wait for it . . . . hand-dipped BLUEBELL Ice Cream. (Growing up in Texas, no other ice cream brand was allowed in our house!) Tim Richardson, Slugger’s owner, ask me to help him create a logo that was friendly, fun and family-oriented for his new business. Also he wanted the logo to include a baseball-playing, bat-swinging hot dog named Slugger.

Logo Design: PBW’s Fall into Fun Event
I recently completed my second project for the Heart of the Ozark’s PBW Group. The PBW’s chapter logo I created can be seen here. Michelle Cook, the group’s president, ask me to create a logo for a brand new event that the group will be hosting September 14. The fall event is aptly named “Fall into Fun” and will be a dinner and dance event. The group wanted a logo that could be used every year, but also had an element that could be switched out to support the event’s theme each year. This year’s theme is a Beach Party so I was asked to incorporate a beach ball. I started the logo by creating a few different logotypes to show the PBW. You can see those original concepts below. The committee quickly chose one and we finalized it so that the sponsorship information could go out quickly. As a new member of the PBW (Yeah!) I am looking forward to attending the event and “catching” a beach ball with an imprint of this fun little logo! Sweet Pea Logo Design Project
I recently had the great pleasure of designing a logo for a baby bedding company in Kansas City. I had a great time working on this logo. I was around 8 months pregnant when I worked on this logo so I was definitely in “baby-mode.” I love the way the final logo turned out. The final version is above and some of the original concepts are shown below.
